This training is aimed at pension administration staff in England and Wales. Some experience of administering the LGPS is desirable.
Scottish LGPS administrators are welcome to attend but should be aware that the exercises and examples that use factors will be demonstrated using English and Welsh factors.
The course is based on overriding tax legislation. Scheme employer staff would not benefit from attending.
The employer role workshop is aimed at employers offering the LGPS in England and Wales. You do not need a working knowledge of the LGPS to attend the course; however, some LGPS experience is preferable.
It is a one-day workshop that is currently being offered virtually using Microsoft Teams, and in person (London). It is also possible to commission a training course to be delivered at your own premises. For more information on commissioning a course please email training.lgps@local.gov.uk
The training is delivered by an experienced tutor with a maximum of 18 attendees, to allow enough opportunity to engage with the tutor and other attendees.
Cost is £270 (plus VAT) per person for online training and £310 (plus VAT) per person for in person training.
Attendees will be provided with a detailed set of electronic notes that can be downloaded and saved for future reference.

This workshop is aimed at Administering Authority staff in England and Wales who deal with, or need to learn about Survivor benefits. It is unlikely that scheme employer staff would benefit by attending- It would be useful if attendees had some experience working in the administration of the LGPS.
